Getting good rankings in search engines requires a website with no flaws in SEO. There are many technical aspects of SEO that all have to be observed. In this article, we discuss one of the most important SEO concepts called Crawlability( What is Crawlability ? ).<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What Are Crawlers?<\/h2>\n

To browse, index, and rank the hundreds of millions of web pages on the Internet, search engines use specialized bots called crawlers, also known as spiders, or spider bots (since they \u201ccrawl\u201d like a spider<\/a>). We consider those terms a bit unfair, though: they\u2019re more like the worker bees of the Internet.<\/p>\n

Indexability<\/strong>, on the other hand, refers to the search engine\u2019s ability to analyze and add a page to its index.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Even though Google could crawl a site, it may not necessarily be able to index all its pages, typically due to indexability issues.<\/p>\n

These crawlers scour the Internet, searching for new web pages<\/a> to evaluate and index. They go from link to link, URL<\/a> to URL, bringing the data back to the search engine\u2019s central servers so that it can be integrated into Google\u2019s database. Essentially<\/a>, they\u2019re the front lines of the Internet, broadening its reach by identifying new data and categorizing it accordingly.<\/p>\n

What Is Crawlability?<\/h2>\n

Crawlability refers to how easy it is for a search engine to process (\u201ccrawl\u201d) the information on a website.<\/p>\n

A crawlable website has:<\/p>\n

\u2022 A clear layout
\n\u2022 A straightforward sitemap
\n\u2022 Easy-to-access internal links<\/a> to each page of content
\nSearch engines like these features because they make the site navigable. Consequently, the search engine has an easier time indexing the website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, a not-so-crawlable website might have:<\/p>\n

\u2022 an incoherent sitemap
\n\u2022 Broken links
\n\u2022 404 errors
\n\u2022 Dead-end web pages
\nThese are not good features. They make it more complicated for search engines to navigate the site and determine its ranking.<\/p>\n

Crawlability<\/strong>\u00a0describes the search engine\u2019s ability to access and crawl content on a page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If a site has no crawlability issues, then web crawlers can access all its content easily<\/a> by following links between pages.<\/p>\n

However, broken links or dead ends might result in crawlability issues \u2013 the search engine\u2019s inability to access specific content on a site.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

What is a Monitor?<\/h2>\n

A search engine such as Google includes searchers, indexes, and algorithms. The task of the monitor is to follow the links. When a Google monitor comes to your website, it reads and stores its content in its index.<\/p>\n

A crawler looks for links on the web.\u00a0The monitors are also known as a robot, bot, and spider and are active 24 hours a day.\u00a0When they reach a website, they store the HTML version of their huge database called the index.\u00a0This index is constantly updated to suit the changes you make to your website.\u00a0Depending on how reputable Google is on your site and how much your site is up to date, it will sooner or later come to your site.<\/p>\n

What is monitoring capability?<\/h2>\n

Crawlability refers to the ability of a site to be monitored by Google monitors.\u00a0The monitors can be blocked on their websites and blocked from accessing the site.\u00a0If you block them, you tell them not to visit your site.\u00a0If this is the case, your site’s pages will not be indexed in Google and as a result, will not appear in the search results.<\/p>\n

There are ways in which a website loses its monitoring capability and will not be indexed<\/a>:<\/p>\n
